[This illustration was created by the player of Erennor especially for the Arda Channel to serve as its representative picture. The map rrepresents the setting we all play in, Middle-earth, the sketch of J.R.R. Tolkien symbolizes the lore, and the great tree drawn in honour of the name of the server, Laurelin]

This is the webpape of the Arda Channel; the main purpose and goal of which has ever been to serve the community as the in-game channel for all folk of mature mind and kind manners that share a love for Middle-earth -both learned and beginners- and for those who favour the setting and immersion more than the mmo part. Since this channel started (more than five years ago) nearly one thousand like-minded players have joined: Middle-earth role players, musicians, writers, artists, and even scholars and linguists. Come for converse, discussions, questions, friendly counsel, sharing and learning, making of plans and designs, finding rp and events and kins, or just for listening everything about role play and the lore.  In a few words, this is the in-game server-wide dedicated communication and resource channel for everything about role play and the books.  Whether active or not, listener or talkative, learned or beginner, by merely being in this channel everyone contributes to it. There are no obligations (other than to not stray away in talk to matters outside the game). Feel at ease.

Also, it is good to know that for convenience the chat is not IC (In Character). IC-talk may be seen at times but it is not to be taken seriously, for it is meant for mere amusement or practice when that happens.

Last but not least, the Tolkien Reading Day event occurs in this channel every week. A day and night of each Thursday dedicated to the books, but also to Middle-earth inspired creations of other people.

The world of Middle-earth is changing once again and now runs on swiftly to great tidings. Shall we not experience it together in greatness ere all fleets by?

Commentary of other people regarding this channel:

''Interacting with other great lovers of Tolkien's works adds a depth to the game I have found not elsewhere. This channel is a wealth of background knowledge and lore, bringing added enjoyment to my exploration of Middle-earth.''

''This channel is like a hidden haven of mature, interesting and helpful discussions about lore and RP. Everyone is made to feel welcome, from casuals and initiates to well-read, long-time fans. No other chat, public, kin or private comes half as close!''

''I love this channel. You bring up a topic and for the next couple of hours, it's a lovely fountain of information, and debate and illumination.

''Every time I decide to leave LotRO and stop playing, the merry people of this channel, somehow convince me to stay and enjoy the company. This channel really is a blessed place.''

''I have seen naught but good will and camaraderie from the denizens of this channel. Though it often is quiet, that is not overly burdensome given the wealth of knowledge and friendly discourse to be found when a topic does elicit responses. The Tolkien Reading Day is of course the crowning jewel;  been read to the lore of Middle-earth whilst traveling it's lands in-game as if one who was born and raised in that world, is a gift beyond measure.''
